Whether it’s that classic Mickey Mouse stuffed toy or the “Frozen” lunch box for your child to enjoy in school, there’s no need for Pinoys to buy them online from official Disney merchandise websites (and pay for expensive shipping fees) or fly to the nearest Disneyland in Hong Kong. The Philippines recently welcomed the newest Disney Store in Manila, the first and the only shop of this kind in Southeast Asia! Let’s take a look.

Disney Store Philippines: Historic Manila Launch

Especially if you are a Manila resident, it will only take a while to get to this newly-opened Disney Store. Located at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, the first and only Disney Store in Southeast Asia has started to bring joy to every Filipino Disney fan, or even those just starting to love the brand. Here, you can find almost anything you can think of about Disney, not only toys, but also home décor.

“We are thrilled that Disney fans in the Philippines can connect with their favorite characters in exciting new ways at Disney Store by SM, with thoughtful collections and retail elements,” Sara Grewal, vice president of retail at Disney Consumer Products Asia-Pacific, told news outlets.

Filipino celebrities and influencers are making sure everyone will know about this magical hype.

“It was such a magical experience!!! Congratulations!!” wrote entrepreneur and influencer @fabgelous on Instagram.

With the Walt Disney Company now celebrating over 100 years, this is indeed a milestone for their market reach in Southeast Asia.

Best Items To Score

Before you head over to this Disney Store, here’s a guide to some of the best Disney products you can own.

1. Plushies

Why do Disney fans run their way to a Disney Store? Most of the time, it’s to score adorable plushies, and Disney Store Philippines doesn’t fail to impress. There are plushies of your favorite Disney characters, both the popular ones and the not-so-popular. You can find stuffed toy versions of Remy of “Ratatouille,” Eeyore of “Winnie-the-Pooh,” and Stitch of the Hawaii-themed animated movie, “Lilo and Stitch,” among various others.

2. Costumes and Apparel

Kids who want to feel like they’re Disney princesses, princes, or even villains should be brought to this Disney Store. Aside from plushies they can hug as they sleep at night, you’ll also find Disney character costumes. From villains to Disney princesses, including a Tinkerbell costume completed with wings, they’ll be ready to play and stand out during celebrations like Halloween parties.

That’s not it. The store also offers fashion finds you can use in real-life, such as in school, at work, or when going out with friends. There are sweaters and other kinds of clothes, as well as shoes and even tiaras for fun moments with your girl buddies.

3. LEGOs and Funko Pops

The Walt Disney Company is quite vast today. You know that they’ve acquired Marvel, and they’ve also ventured out on LEGOs and Funko Pops. Your favorites are found at Disney Store Philippines.

Of course, the LEGO sets are Disney-themed, from Disney princesses to “Star Wars” LEGOs. For the Funko Pops category, perhaps the most in-demand is the Loki Funko Pop, looking so fierce and evil. Aside from this, there are also Funko Pops for Winnie the Pooh, the princesses, and The Incredibles.

4. Animators’ Dolls

If you’ve been to Disneyland theme parks, rode those attractions that feature dolls that move on their own, and thought of maybe bringing one of them home, then turn that dream to a reality only at this Disney Store. Here, you can find dolls in the younger versions of Disney’s heroines, brought to life in creative ways, thanks to the Walt Disney Animation Studio. Except that you’ll have to play with them if you want them to “move.”

5. Star Wars

Believe it or not, the Star Wars franchise is now part of the Disney family. In 2012, Disney completed the acquisition of “Star Wars” and the studio behind it, Lucasfilm. So, in this Disney Store at MOA, expect to find Star Wars goodies that will unleash your inner space warriors.

6. Home Décor

It’s not just about toys and clothes in this Disney Store, but also home décor finds for those who want to turn their residences into Disney magic. Disney has been doing this type of business in Disneyland shops, offering items like utensils and food bowls. Now, they’re even more accessible as it only takes a trip to a Disney Store to snag home products like drinkware and figural mugs.

Reasons Why Fans Prefer Shopping at Disney Store Philippines

Nowadays, you can find Disney products on popular eCommerce websites. But, the problems are, are they authentic, and are you sure you won’t be paying more? That said, Pinoy Disney fans still prefer shopping the traditional way at Disney Store. Here’s why.

1. Find Everything Disney Here

Disney Store is the official shopping destination for Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar merchandise. It’s not just about toys, but also trendy apparel, home décor, costumes, and even exclusive products you may also find from Disney Parks.

2. It’s Managed by SM Supermalls

The Walt Disney Company found its perfect partnership with the Philippines’ leading mall chain, SM Supermalls, to manage its market reach in the country and Southeast Asia. Sure, you can find authentic Disney products inside the mall’s department stores, but Disney Store by SM is changing the game.

3. Window Shopping Is Just as Fun

If you’re not in the mood to buy Disney products or want to instead shop another day, this Disney Store is still a memorable place to just stroll around and window-shop. You can still feel the Disney magic as there are life-size statues around of your favorite Disney characters, such as Darth Vader. Be sure to take photos!

Shopping at Disney Store by SM is the perfect way to rediscover your Walt Disney passion and create unforgettable memories with your family. At first, you’ll think that Disney is just for kids, but Disney Store Philippines is proving that this magical world is for kids and the young at heart. Visit the store today at Level 1, North Main Mall, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
