There’s a new restaurant in town, but not just your average foodie spot, since your newest hangout place is owned and managed by none other than multi-awarded chef, Gordon Ramsay. Located at the luxurious Newport World Resorts in Pasay City, the Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill has been earning the likes of both food adventurers and hobbyists in the country even a few weeks after its launch. Here’s a look at the coolest things about this bar and grill, and why it is a certified hit.

Multi-Michelin Chef Gordon Ramsay

You know him as the brutal chef on TV who harshly criticizes the dishes of aspiring chefs, but that’s to teach them, of course. Chef Gordon Ramsay hails from Britain. He is not just a chef and restaurateur, but a celebrity who has made a name for himself. He was first seen in the British television miniseries titled “Boiling Point” in 1999, then appeared eventually on shows such as “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares,” “The F Word,” “MasterChef,” “MasterChef Junior,” and so much more. The junior and kids cooks are hearing her profanities, too? You get the picture.

“Hello, Manila! It’s me, your favorite Chef Gordon. Can’t wait to see you soon at the first-ever Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill in the Philippines!” the chef said in a video message on the official Instagram page of the restaurant.

Gordon Ramsay’s Restaurant Chain

It was in 1997 when Chef Gordon Ramsay founded his very first restaurant group, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants. He has several restaurants worldwide, but among the most famous are the Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London – his signature restaurant – and his Hell’s Kitchen restaurant at Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip.

Now, he’s venturing in the Philippines in the hopes that his Filipino fans can try his recipes and to introduce his food to the rest of the country.

Since its launch on August 31st, his first bar and grill here has caught the attention of Filipino influencers, such as YouTuber Cathrena Chen.

“We really had super high expectations because it’s the Gordon Ramsay we’re talking about. Their menu is simple, not a lot of choices. For sure, we would come back to try their other dishes,” Chen said in her YouTube video.

What’s So Cool About Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill In Manila?

There’s so many things about the newly-opened Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill at the Newport World Resorts that you will love.

Visiting the bar and grill, expect to get a taste of Chef Gordon Ramsay’s specialities. On the menu are the Australian Grass-Fed Ribeye Steak MB5, Ibérico Pork Secreto, Chilled Heirloom tomato Gazpacho, David Hervé Oysters, Sticky Toffee Pudding, and more.

Chen and her friends were able to try the Signature Beef Wellington, Crispy Crab Cake, and Bar and Grill Burger, among others.

2. You Can Try His European Cooking Style

Even though Chef Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants are famous among Americans, with his Las Vegas branch, he basically uses a European cooking style, since he was born in Scotland.

His culinary philosophy fuses simplicity with the showcase of fresh and high-quality ingredients, as well as meticulous attention to detail. He also uses techniques such as searing to lock in the sumptuous flavors, slow cooking for the meat to tenderize it, and the presence of fresh herbs to create more flavor.

3. The Restaurant Interiors Are Wonderful

The interiors of Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill in Pasay City are a testament of how world-class his restaurants are. It follows the concept of the interiors of his other restaurants globally.

According to the Manila restaurant’s official Instagram account, the interiors pay homage to the restaurant chain’s Cool Britannia roots, tracing their heritage from the royal borough of Chelsea and the high-end Mayfair neighborhood located in the heart of London, where the chef has another restaurant as well.

4. It Is Located At The Heart Of Metro Manila

Chef Gordon Ramsay’s team chose the perfect spot for the Manila leg of his restaurant. It is part of the Newport World Resorts, a luxurious establishment in Pasay where you can experience sophisticated dining and a range of flavors, from Filipino favorites to Asian cuisines to international recipes, such as what the Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill offers.

Being situated at Newport World Resorts, his restaurant is close to Manila’s main thoroughfare. The urban resort is just less than 30 minutes away from the Ninoy Aquino International Airports. Thus, it can attract both locals and tourists.

“His larger-than-life personality and our shared enthusiasm in opening one of the most sought-after restaurants in the culinary world, strengthens our position as the most multifaceted integrated resort in the country, leading the way in elevated dining experiences for all our guests,” Newport World Resorts chairman Kevin Tan said in his interview with ABS-CBN News.

5. It’s The Best Place To Bond With Family And Friends

If you are looking for the perfect place to share memories with your relatives and friends, choose the Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill experience in Manila. While your kids will enjoy most of what’s on the menu, the restaurant features several choices for your youngsters, such as the Bar and Grill Burger, Gordon Ramsay Fish and Chips, Butter-Mashed Potatoes, and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

See For Yourself, Taste European Flavors

Chef Gordon Ramsay’s newest restaurant in the Philippines deserves all the hype. The selections are classic, but still offer something new for Filipino food lovers. Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill is one of the first not just in the Philippines but in Southeast Asia, resonating with both locals and international visitors.

Like his other restaurants around the world, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill showcases his commitment to and passion for quality and innovation, an indication that the Philippine market is ready for greater things. Try it here to believe it.

While the menu isn’t as extensive as other restaurants in the country, centers on international and European cuisine, and could be pricey, it’s where you can take your palate for some unforgettable food adventure.
